Bayway Community Advisory Panel (CAP) Scholarship

The Bayway Community Advisory Panel (CAP) is a committee of community representatives from Linden, Rahway, Elizabeth and Staten Island including neighbors, educators, retirees, public officials, emergency responders, and environmentalists who attend monthly meetings that serve as a forum for dialogue between the community and company representatives from Phillips 66 Bayway Refinery, DuPont, Infineum USA L.P., and NAES/Linden Cogen Technologies.

Objectives of the CAP include:
-          Addressing the community’s safety, health, environmental, educational and civic issues, as well as perceptions and expectations
-          Disseminating factual information to the community in an unbiased manner
-          Discussing key company issues
-          Discussing and make recommendations on controversial matters

For the year 2014, the Bayway CAP has elected to offer High School Seniors who are residents of Linden, Rahway, Elizabeth, and Staten Island the opportunity to be awarded a municipality scholarship. A total of four (4) scholarships will be awarded - one $1,000 scholarship for each of the four municipalities. This scholarship is open to candidates who will be pursuing a college education in the Industrial, Process Technology, or Engineering fields.

Click here for the scholarship application and here for the flyer.  Interested students  - must complete the application form on the computer  or be typed.  Hand-written applications will not be accepted.  Applications must be postmarked on or before March 21, 2014.  Candidates must include a copy of their high school transcript with their application and return both to:

The scholarship committee will also be taking the following areas into consideration when reviewing the applications:  attendance, extra curricular activities, community activities, and volunteerism.  The application should be prepared mainly by the student; assistance by others is permitted if necessary.

A Scholarship Awards Dinner will take place in May 2014.
