2014 Summer Arts Institute Program Information and Application

Announcing the 2014 Summer Arts Institute!

The 2014 Summer Arts Institute (SAI), a FREE summer arts program for middle and high school students, will take place at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, Queens from July 7 through August 1, 2014. Students can apply to study dance, theater, instrumental music (band and orchestra), vocal music, film, or visual arts. Admission is by application and audition.

NEW THIS YEAR!
-          SAI is pleased to introduce a String Orchestra studio. This studio is open to students who play violin, viola, cello, and bass.
-          All students can now apply online for the Summer Arts Institute. The online application can be accessed through the following link: http://www.cvent.com/d/y4q7hm. Students unable to apply online may instead submit a hard copy application by mail. We highly encourage using the new online system.

SAI is designed for students at an intermediate or advanced level of study in their discipline. In order to apply for SAI, students must meet the following criteria:
1. Entering grades 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12 in the Fall of 2014
2. Currently enrolled in a New York City Department of Education public school or planning to enroll in a New York City Department of Education public school for the 2014-15 school year. Public school enrollment will be verified to determine eligibility.

Application Deadline: Applications must be received by Friday, February 14 at 6:00 p.m.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23, 2013 at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts.
