About the Prize
Princeton
University sponsors the New York City Princeton Prize in Race Relations, an
awards program for high school students who are doing exceptional work to
advance the cause of race relations. The objective of the program is to
support young people who are working hard to foster respect and understanding
among people of different backgrounds.

First
place honor for the New York City winner is $1,000. In addition, award
certificates will be given to projects that are worthy of honorable mention.
Students in grades 9 through 12 in the five boroughs are eligible to apply.
Applicants must have been engaged in their volunteer project in the past 12
months and submit a completed entry form.
If
you know potential applicants who require additional time, please contact the
NYC Princeton Prize committee chair Hue Rhodes (hmrhodes@alumni.princeton.edu)
to discuss. All winners will be notified in writing in early April 2014.
