Association of Blacks in Energy New York Metro Area Chapter Scholarship Application
Click here to get the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) New York Metro Area Chapter 2012 Scholarship application. It is for students graduating High School this year. Through its Scholarship Program, AABE seeks to help increase the number of African Americans, Hispanics and Native Americans (underrepresented minorities) in energy related fields.
Candidates for an AABE scholarship must meet the following eligibility criteria:
1. Have, minimally, an overall “B” academic average and a “B” average in mathematics and science courses (3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale).
2. Be a graduating high school senior who has applied to one or more accredited colleges/universities.
3. Plan to major in business, engineering, technology, mathematics or physical science fields.
4. Demonstrate financial need.
5. Be a member of one of the underrepresented minority groups (African American, Hispanic or Native American) in the sciences and related areas of technology.

The first annual VISINE® STUDENTS WITH VISION™ Scholarship Program
is offering one-time $5,000 scholarships to students who have demonstrated a clear vision or goal for their future. High school seniors and current college students with a minimum GPA of 2.8 may submit an online application beginning February 15, 2012. The deadline to apply is April 16, 2012.

The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program
The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program, funded by the GM Foundation, is designed to help students who are leaders in both the classroom and their communities, but who may not have the financial means to attend college.
The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program will award:
Up to $25,000 per year for 100 students
– AND –
$2,000 one-time awards for 1,000 students
We encourage students to apply who…
Are high school seniors or current college undergraduates enrolling for full-time study at an accredited four-year U.S. college or university for the 2012-13 academic year.
Plan to major in a specified course of study that focuses on Engineering/Technology, or select Design and Business-related programs.
Have an interest in a career in the automotive or related industries.

Come to the FAFSA workshop at McKee High School this Saturday, january 7, 2012. It will be from 10 AM to 12 Noon. The FAFSA application has just opened up. If you are the parent of a junior or senior, you need to know the latest information as to how to fill out the FAFSA application.
