There are a number of companies and organizations who have donated money for scholarships to African Americans, but a great deal of the money is being returned because of a lack of awareness. We must get the word out that money is available.

New York State Department of Health's Dangers of Tanning Video Contest
New York State Department of Health (the Department) is sponsoring a contest for students in grades 9th-12th in all public and private schools in New York.
The Department will be inviting 9th-12th grade students in all public and private high schools in New York State to participate in the Department’s first Video Contest on “The Dangers of Tanning”. The Department is sponsoring this contest to raise awareness about the dangers of tanning, the importance of sun safety and the growing incidence of skin cancer across the nation. The due date for videos is going to be on or before April 30th.
For six years, the Department has conducted a statewide poster contest with K-8 students to promote sun safety and skin cancer prevention. This year we are expanding our activities to share the skin cancer prevention message with high school teens.
Submitted videos will be hosted on the SchoolTube website. SchoolTube is a safe video-sharing website exclusively approved by National Education Associations. If your school does not already have a SchoolTube account, now is the time to create one. Please visit http://www.schooltube.com/ and click SIGN UP at the top of the page.
Contest rules, student Instructions and entry forms will be sent at the end of this week via email.
