Parsons Pre-College Academy Program

Parsons holds the Pre-College Academy program on Saturdays for students in grades 3 through 12. Students can choose from a variety of art and design disciplines grouped by elementary, middle and high school grade levels. Students do not need art or design experience to participate, although more experienced students may choose to enroll in a portfolio development class to further their art and design studies. Registration is currently open and classes begin on Saturday, September 27.

We are holding an information session on Saturday, September 13th at 11:00 a.m. in Kellen Auditorium, located at 66 5th Avenue between 11th and 12th Streets. Representatives will discuss the different classes on offer this semester and details about our pre-college certificate program. Throughout the year, Parsons hosts a variety of free art and design related events and workshops for youth. Many of our events like Portfolio Redefined are focused on portfolio preparation and college readiness. Other events like PlayTech are opportunities for students to learn about industry careers like Game Design and interact with peers from across the tri-state area.

All Access Virtual College Fair

           

With regular decision deadlines fast approaching, NOW is the time for students to put their best foot forward in the competitive college application race. Login to the All Access Virtual College Fair, on September 18, 2014 where admissions reps from over 200 colleges like Texas Tech, UCLA & Syracuse University will be available to chat live with students about application questions, financial aid and more. 

Students will be automatically entered to win the $2,500 Tuition Scholarship Giveaway when they visit 3 colleges during the event.

She continues researching scholarships and passing out information to those that are eligible for the larger scholarships. Sign up for www.fastweb.com and make a FULL PROFILE, and they will match you with scholarships that you are eligible. Start working on your essays because you can use one really good essay for many scholarships!

Also, check out www.collegeweeklive.com. They give many options for scholarships and virtual college fairs where you can talk to college and financial aid representatives from around the country. They have a VIRTUAL COLLEGE FAIR coming up tomorrow (Nov 21) – all students who “attend” (sign in, make an account, explore the colleges) are automatically entered into a drawing for a $2,500 scholarship!!
