The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is coming to RALPH R. MCKEE CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION HIGH SCHOOL!

Do you have a big idea? Have you always wanted to start your own business? Do you have an invention or project that you want to take to the next level?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should apply for the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, or YEA! YEA will be offered beginning in the fall, and will take you through the process of brainstorming a business idea, writing a business plan, pitching your plan to investors (think Shark Tank meets American Idol meets the Apprentice), obtaining funding and launching a REAL business. Start as a student, and finish as the CEO of your own company!

Apply today! Applications can be found at  http://www.yeausa.org/pdf/SiteApplications/YEA!%20Staten%20Island%20Application%202013%202014.pdf

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is coming to RALPH R. MCKEE CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION HIGH SCHOOL!

Beginning in the fall, middle and high Ralph R. McKee Career and Technical Education High School students at RALPH R. MCKEE CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION HIGH SCHOOL will have the unique opportunity to start and launch their own REAL businesses or social movements, by participating in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!).

Started at the University of Rochester in 2004, YEA! began as a weekly class, taught on the University campus. YEA! has since expanded to other colleges, chambers of commerce and high Ralph R. McKee Career and Technical Education High Schools. YEA! will be offered at RALPH R. MCKEE CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION HIGH SCHOOL beginning in September, 2013.

Over the course of the year, students will brainstorm ideas, write business plans, pitch their plans to a group of investors, obtain funding, launch their enterprise and actually sell their products or services. Along the way they will file paperwork with the County Clerk's office; work with business professionals to, among other things, build a brand identity and create a website; hear from local business owners; and participate in a Trade Show.
